This story is about a young woman called Lily Bloom, she has recently moved to Boston in search for a fresh start after finishing college. My review (spoilers) :

This book was the first book that I had read in years. It made me fall in love with reading again. I found this author through TikTok (booktok), also book reviews and recommendations kept popping up so I gave in and bought It Ends With Us. I'm SO glad I did!

I was hooked when I started to read this book, I think books with short chapters keep me reading for longer. I really like Lily as a character, she's such a genuinely lovely person and after everything that she went through throughout the book she continued to be strong for herself and her daughter. I think the relationship that she has with Atlas is so special and that is clear from the beginning of the book. Atlas proves in this book that he is respectful, understanding and 100% supportive of Lily and I think this is why they rekindle their love at the end of the book.

Ryle on the other hand... of course at first he seems like the perfect man for Lily but as the story progresses we start to see his true self. It was heartbreaking to read, everyone wants the classic fairytale romance but this definitely wasn't that, but that isn't to say I didn't like this book. Obviously those particular moments were not nice to read but it does happen in real life and I think Colleen has written the book in a really clever and sensitive way to show this.

Overall I definitely recommend this book, there are lot of different topics covered including abusive relationships, heartbreak but also love, friendship and (of course) Ellen DeGeneres - HA! The book can be quite intense at times, I personally can't relate to Lily in this story but I think if you have been affected by an abusive relationship just bear that in mind. It's a tough read however it does have really special elements included so it is worth a read for sure!
