This getaway is very special to us both as we actually got engaged here! Peckmoor Farm Lodges is perfectly located on a farm. We loved waking up each day and seeing so much wildlife and different farm animals. I'm such an animal lover so this lodge was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the lodge called Quackers - bloody love the name! This getaway is located near Crewkerne, Dorset.

Quackers was the perfect size for us, it was clean and comfortable and they even made us some cupcakes to eat for our arrival. The owner of the farm also came and introduced himself and made sure everything was okay, I think having that personal touch is always nice and shows that they really do care about their customers. The lodge itself has a kingsize double bed, sofa and TV to sit back and relax. The kitchen is fully fitted with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee machine. The bathroom has a double shower which I loved! Through the kitchen area is the back door, leading out to a small decking area and of course the electric hot tub, we absolutely loved spending every evening in here and listening to the sounds of all of the farm animals and birds.

The images below show around Peckmoor Farm Lodges and the animals that they have there, if you are a animal lover like me, it is the best place to go!

Places to visit :

Wayford Woods

Wayford Woods

This walk is only around a 10 minute drive away from Peckmoor Farm Lodges. It is a beautiful place to walk your dogs, it is mostly a wooded area but there are a few fields you can walk through. There is a map at the entrance of the wood so you can see where you want to explore and how long it will roughly take you. I remember there is a tiny car park if you choose to drive here, we went on a week day so it wasn't busy but I can imagine if you went on a weekend it might be difficult to find parking.

Castle Neroche - National Forest

This location was 30 minutes from Peckmoor. The views were absolutely incredible! There is so much to see and explore here, we really loved this walk. There are loads of different paths, taking you through some wooded areas and also some really nice scenic routes. There is a large car park for this forest so you can drive there and not have to worry about parking. Overall we really enjoyed exploring this forest and would definitely go back if we stay near this area again.

Lyme Regis

Lyme Regis

This beach is a 30 minute drive away from the lodge. We had such a nice day exploring the beach (dog friendly section), the shops and just walking around the area. We treated Ivy and bought her a few things from Pug and Puffin, this is a really cute dog friendly shop that sells dog products for your furry friend. I recommend coming here if you are willing to drive further out to new places, the atmosphere in this area is lovely!

Charmouth Beach

Charmouth is again around a 30 minute drive away from Peckmoor. This beach has a large dog friendly area so is perfect if you're taking a little friend. You can spend your time on the beach, we have been here a few times and taken a paddle board. This is so fun to do, we have a life jacket for Ivy. There is a large river that you can do this on as the sea water can be quite rough. If you didn't want to spend all your time on the beach there are lots of coastal walks or even strolling through the village is lovely. They have a dog friendly pub called The Royal Oak. I recommend going there if you wanted to stop for food and a drink.
