  • Enemies to lovers

  • Humorous

  • Easy read

Plot :

Olive is preparing for her twin sisters wedding and wants to enjoy her day as much as she can but she knows that she will have to spend the majority of the day with the best man, Ethan. They have been sworn enemies for a very long time. However, when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning except for herself and Ethan, resulting in a honeymoon up for grabs. They both decide to take the free holiday and ensure that they both stay out of each others way. That doesn't go to plan when Olive bumps into her new boss and tells a lie, forcing them to act like newly weds for the duration of their trip.

My review (spoilers) :

I personally really enjoyed this book. It made me laugh a lot in comparison to the other books that I have read. It was a bubbly and fun storyline and had me hooked the minute I started reading. I think Olive is a really relatable character in so many different ways. It's nice reading about normal feelings that people have and how they overcome those hurdles in their life. Also, I loved the body positivity elements as sometimes this is a missed subject in romance books but it was really uplifting when reading these particular points.

However, I do feel like the ending was a little rushed. It had a really fun/positive first half but then the minute they got back from Hawaii the plot changed dramatically. It was focused more on her career, family and trust. I didn't hate it but I felt that maybe it was a little rushed and could've included a couple of more chapters to expand a bit more on that particular subject within the story.

Overall this book is a funny and lighthearted easy read. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good laugh, it kept me smiling throughout!

"You don't get to choose the circumstances. That's the point of luck: it happens when and where it happens"

Thanks for reading,

Phoebe
